Ecospill’s Tuffsolv is a heavy duty graffiti remover and paint stripper like no other! Tuffsolv has been formulated to be a more effective, user-friendly alternative to common products available today. Reformulation away from methylene chloride based paint strippers is being driven by concern about methylene chloride’s toxicity and its effects on the environment. Tuffsolv is readily biodegradable, has low toxicity and is safe for workers.
Tuffsolv is environmentally friendly and readily biodegradable
Tuffsolv behaves somewhat differently than methylene chloride based paint strippers. While methylene chloride “bubbles” the paint from the surface, Tuffsolv softens and “dissolves” the paint to a paste like consistency. This softening action of Tuffsolv can minimize damage to softer substrates (e.g. Wood, by not raising the wood grain) and often leads to a more complete removal of the paint.
Tuffsolv is compatible with many materials. To provide a guide to the user, in the selection of plastics and elastomers, a wide variety of these have been tested with the results listed below. However, because compatibility is affected by material variations, it is advisable to recheck critical components under use conditions before a final commitment is made.
Many plastics including polyethylene, polypropylene, fluorocarbon resins, nylon, and acetal resin are essentially unaffected and are considered suitable for use. Others, such as polystyrene, ABS, acrylic, and polyvinyl chloride, are highly swollen, dissolved, or disintegrated.
The elastomers recommended for use in long-term contact, such as gaskets and seals, are silicone, ethylene/propylene rubber, and butyl rubber. Gaskets and seals of fluoropolymers, such as Teflon®, are also acceptable.
Polyurethane and Viton® fluoroelastomers are not recommended. Prior in-use tests are particularly important to direct the choice of elastomers, because variations in compounding and cure can markedly affect the behavior of elastomers.
Tuffsolv is a colorless liquid with a mild pleasant odor. As a cleaning agent, it helps reduce volatile organic carbon levels and reduce health hazards associated with alternative solvents.
(acetone and methylene chloride).
Used by any persons across all industries who has need to remove paint and graffiti in a safe, effective manner, while not harming the surface below.
